RESTORATIVE BODYWORK
Neuro-Balancing Bodywork
with Terri Rodriguez LMT
When chronic pain becomes global and widespread — when it's everywhere and nowhere specific at once — the nervous system itself has often become the source of the problem. Neuro-Balancing Bodywork is designed for exactly this: calming the central nervous system so the body feels safe, reducing muscle guarding, and giving your system the input it needs to begin unwinding years of accumulated tension and pain.
This is a gentle, receptive approach that works directly with the nervous system. Rather than targeting muscles and tissue, Terri creates the conditions for your body to release tension, calm protective patterns, and restore balance on its own terms.
New clients: Every new client begins with a 90-minute Intro session — this is where Terri builds a full picture of your body, your history, and what your nervous system needs before treatment begins.

Neuro-Balancing Bodywork, explained
When the body is in persistent pain, the nervous system enters a state of protection — increasing muscle tone, restricting movement, and amplifying pain signals even when no new injury is present. Over time, this protective state can become the body's default, making it nearly impossible to find relief through traditional massage or therapy alone.
Neuro-Balancing Bodywork addresses this at the source. Using microcurrent therapy, manual techniques, and gentle nervous system input, Terri works to reduce the overall load on your nervous system — creating a sense of safety that allows muscles to release, pain signals to quiet, and the body to begin reorganizing toward balance. As global pain patterns reduce, specific sources of dysfunction become easier to identify and address.

MODALITIES & METHODS
Techniques Used
Terri combines manual therapy with advanced microcurrent technology to address both the physical and neurological dimensions of chronic pain — selecting techniques based on what your nervous system needs most in each session.
MPS Pain Therapy
Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) using the Dolphin Neurostim device applies brief, concentrated DC micro-impulses to key neurological points — reducing sympathetic nervous system stress, relaxing muscles, and relieving pain. Clinically shown to significantly reduce chronic pain by calming the nervous system at the source.
Microcurrent Balancing Therapy
A specific application of the Dolphin Neurostim designed to balance the body's bioelectrical field — reducing asymmetries in nervous system tone that can contribute to chronic pain, postural imbalance, and systemic tension patterns throughout the body.
Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques
When the nervous system is ready to receive manual work, Terri integrates Erik Dalton's brain-based bodywork system — applying soft tissue techniques, neural mobilization, and postural correction as needed to address the physical structures contributing to pain and restriction.
Scar Release Therapy
Scars and adhesions — even old ones — can create fascial restrictions that pull on surrounding tissue, compress nerves, and contribute to widespread pain patterns. The Dolphin Neurostim is used to gently release scar tissue restrictions, restoring mobility and reducing pain that may have persisted for years.
Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)
The vagus nerve is the primary pathway of the parasympathetic nervous system — governing rest, digestion, and recovery. VNS using the Dolphin Neurostim directly activates this pathway, shifting the nervous system out of a chronic stress response and into a state where healing and tissue repair can occur more effectively.
Soft Tissue & Joint Mobilization
All soft tissue techniques from Therapeutic Massage — including deep tissue, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy — are available and applied when appropriate, always in response to what the nervous system assessment indicates rather than as a default routine.
Hot Clay Packs — Used When Appropriate
When heat would benefit the session, Terri may apply hot clay packs to the back or other areas of tension. Clay retains heat deeply and evenly, helping to calm the nervous system, soften tissue, and create a greater sense of ease before or during treatment.
Supplemental Tools — Used When Appropriate
Terri may incorporate PEMF therapy via the HealthyLine BioMat when it would support the session outcomes — helping to further calm the nervous system, reduce inflammation, and prepare tissue for deeper work. This is not included in every session but is available as part of your individualized treatment plan.

YOUR VISIT
What to Expect
01
Intake & Assessment
Your Intro session begins with a thorough intake covering your health history, pain patterns, and how your body has been feeling. Terri will perform orthopedic, postural, and manual movement assessments to understand your nervous system's current state and identify the patterns contributing to your pain. This shapes everything that follows.
02
Nervous System Preparation
Before hands-on work begins, Terri uses the Dolphin Neurostim to begin calming the nervous system — applying MPS therapy, VNS, or microcurrent balancing as indicated by your assessment. This step is central to the session: when the nervous system feels safe, the manual work that follows becomes significantly more effective.
03
Manual Therapy & Microcurrent Work
With the nervous system more receptive, Terri integrates manual techniques — myofascial release, soft tissue work, Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, and scar release as needed — alongside continued microcurrent therapy. The combination allows for deeper tissue release with less resistance and more lasting effect.
04
Close & Recovery
Before you leave, your therapist will bring you a bottle of water and may offer personalized movement or stretching recommendations based on what was addressed in your session — helping your body continue to recover and adapt between visits.
IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Who Benefits Most
Neuro-Balancing Bodywork is best suited for clients whose pain has become global and widespread — where there's no single clear source, or where the body's response to pain has become the problem itself. Not sure if this is the right fit? Our team is happy to help you choose.
